Chee Soo's Shou Pay Fah
This beautiful form is another example of the effectiveness of the soft arts of China. Master Howard Gibbon, Chee Soo’s student for 21 years demonstrates all 90 moves from four angles and also explains the techniques behind the moves. A must have training DVD for all practitioners of our amazing art of Feng Shou. Please remember fluidity of movement, not power, is the priority when practising Shou Pay Fah. The speed can be increased when a good standard of proficiency has been attained. But don’t rush, a favorite saying of Chee Soo’s comes to mind here ‘The slowest is the fastest’ was often quoted to me in my youth during training days.
Please note: I have used Mandarin as against the older Cantonese for text of ‘Sou Pay Fat’.
Dook Shou Sets
Also called Poisoned Hand Art. These sets are designed to train students of the art of Feng Shou to deliver various combinations of hand strikes at great speed.
The moves are all preformed slowly apart from the strikes which are performed fast. However, first practise the strikes slowly for correct hand formation and placement. Speed can come later.
Teacup - Clock Face - 5 Lotus Petals Evasion Exercises
Practise these evasions sets to learn to move lightly and quickly away from the angle of attack from blows and strikes with hand leg or weapons. And by so ding so positioning yourself to strike back instantly and accurately while remaining balanced and aware of the situation around you.
Feng Shou (Kung Fu) Staff
The Feng Shou Staff is an integral part of the complete art. The practice of the Feng Shou Staff will reveal the staff's flow and dynamic techniques. Our arts are like the fingers of your hand each one separate in its own right, yet they combine together to become more than their individual parts.
Harmonising and blending together through stances, postures, movements and techniques, reinforcing each other, flowing together developing greater control over mind, body and the energies involved.
Enjoy the energy boost the Feng Shou Staff creates as you practise this wonderful form. The Feng Shou Staff like all our arts represent our links to our Taoist past and keep us in touch with our ancient Masters.
Testimonials from Customers:
Hi Howard, This is the DVD we've all been waiting for - the definitive moves for the Feng Shou Form. Having personally waited more than 30 years for this, it’s wonderful to now have this resource for all 90 movements of Shou Pay Fah - even more wonderful to have the applications on the same DVD.
Mark Popplewell - Wakefield
Hi Howard, All your DVD`s have been so good it was difficult to imagine a better one, but here it is, this one is outstanding. It did seem at one point as though it was never going to arrive but here it is and its BRILLIANT and well worth the wait. Thank you for all your hard work and expertise in producing it for us.
Best wishes, Dorothy - Redcar
Hi Howard, The Feng Shou dvd is brilliant! This will be so incredibly helpful. Mike watched it too and thought it was really impressive.

Congratulations Howard,
it looks like Mark Popplewell's comments were spot on.
As in your previous DVD's, having the option to watch you perform the moves, broken down in to several short sequences. Rather than in one complete Form from beginning to end, certainly helps you to learn the basic moves. As you can repeat a set, over and over again, until you feel you've "got it". Then move on to the next sequence of moves, until before you know it, you've done all 90.
Also, the ability to view from four different (compass) directions, helps in sorting out any hand/foot movements, etc that would otherwise be hidden or partly obscured from view.
But the real icing on the cake, at least as far as I'm concerned, are the Applications.
So that now, once you can grasp the meaning / intention behind a particular movement, you're much more likely to do it correctly. Rather than just moving your arms and legs about, in a manner roughly similar to your Instructors movements.
Also, you were good at explaining things like...."We do it this way as the opponent may try to move out of range.
But in a real life situation the moves would probably be a lot shorter."
Or, "if you just try to push the arm down it won't work, you must use your weight"., etc
It was interesting / nice to see that you filmed whilst teaching an actual Class. Instead of just taking the easier option of doing a narrative voice-over, whilst doing the sequences with specific opponents in an empty training hall.
This DVD should be of enormous benefit to beginners, but will also be a great "aide-memoire" to those of us who've learnt the Form sometime in the distant past. But who haven't had the opportunity to practice it on a regular basis, before now. It also means there's more chance of the Lee Arts being preserved for future generations. If they're all documented in such a comprehensive fashion.
I believe it was mentioned in your DVD that this set is used in the Feng Shou & Chi Shu, as it has elements of both. As a point of interest, is it actually 100% identical in both arts ?
As although my initial Instructor in the Lee Arts was Trevor Nightingale. I never had the opportunity to study Chi Shu.
